Description: This is a HUD approved/non-profit organization which will point you to the counselors in your area that should be able to give you some FREE help. They’ll be able to help you if you fall into one of the following categories:
- You owe more than what your home is worth
- You cannot make your payment due to hardship
- Your loan is adjusting and you know you won’t be able to make that additional payment
- You are a first time homebuyer needig more information on what to do before buying
- You are a renter and find yourself in the middle of your landlord’s foreclosure
- You are a senior citizen finding yourself in mortgage trouble or want to find out how to stay out of trouble.
Also, you can always check with your lenders and see if there is a workout plan that they can offer you.

Description: For immediate help and guidance 24 hours a day/7 days a week call NeighborWorks. You will receive absolutely free foreclosure prevention counseling by expert counselors at HUD-approved agencies. Homeowners can get budgeting assistance, a written financial plan and assistance in contacting their lender. If you’d like face to face counseling or need local resources, homeowners are referred to a local NeighborWorks organization or other counseling organization.
