The number of foreclosed Riverside County properties auctioned in July 2008 jumped 19 percent and increased 216 percent compared to last year 2007. A total of 3,812 repossessed bank properties were auctioned last month ( one house to every 512 county residents). Los Angeles County had the most foreclosure sales. Los Angeles foreclosures were auctioned off per 1 to every 2,283 residents.

New foreclosures in the Los Angeles county more than doubled in July from a year ago. More Los Angeles foreclosures are expected to be auctioned. Los Angeles foreclosures even started to spread to wealthier areas, including such areas such as Santa Monica, Malibu and Manhattan Beach.
