Banks are willing to work with struggling homeowners to avoid foreclosure.  The non-profit group “No Homeowner Left Behind” has been helping various cities and lenders to help homeowner save their homes.

The first Manteca forum is Wednesday, July 16th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Manteca Senior Center on 295 Cherry Lane.  The forum is not only to have experts answer questions but to prepare distressed homeowners to talk to lenders and designed to see if there is a way for them to keep their homes.  The group exists to improve the odds of homeowners to save their homes or at least be able to move on with less fear and more certainty.  Some homeowners have been successful with negotiating with bank reps on the spot to secure 30 year fixed rate loans to keep their homes in gatherings in the past.

Although they do caution that not all banks are willing to work to that degree and some people may not be in a position to get a reduced rate loan.

While homes cannot be guaranteed to be saved, the face to face meeting with lenders can help homeowners deal with unknown maneuvering through the foreclosure process.

The forum will feature the Housing and Urban Development certified counselors and a panel of housing industry professionals from the No Homeowner Left Behind Central Valley to answer questions.  All of them are volunteers and no solicitation by business will take place.

It’s very important to bring mortgage papers and get questions answered that need to be explained regarding specific documents.
