What happens if I get behind on my mortgage payments?
Seek help early to avoid entering foreclosure. If you anticipate issues with your payments, contact your lender and explain to them your situation. Most lenders wil want to work out a solution if you contact them quickly. Use the phone numbers found here and ask to speak to the loss mitigation department.

What if I’ve already received letter saying my home is being foreclosed?
Don’t ignore these letters. Take action immediately by contacting your mortgage lender’s loss mitigation department to explain to them your situation.
Should I still live in my home?
Yes. You are in a much better position to save money and if you abandon your home, your may not qualify for assistance.
